Senior Leadership Team for York Care Centre and the Centre for Innovation and Research in Aging (C.I.R.A.)

Tony Weeks, President & Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining the senior leadership team, Tony ran his own health consulting firm and previously served in CEO and senior executive roles within acute care, provincial health, and health shared services in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

Tony holds an MBA in Health Administration and has completed Executive Programs at Cornell (Executive Leadership + Strategic Facility Design) and MIT (Neuroscience for Leadership). He has worked in the health and care industry since 1988.

Lori McDonald, Vice President, Care & Research Services

Prior to joining the senior leadership team, Lori served as C.I.R.A’s Chief of Research Services and Clinical Research Lead. Lori is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Ottawa and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health – Nursing Specialization, from Lakehead University.

While completing her Master’s Degree, Lori assisted the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes with various initiations, one of which was to promote best practices in palliative care. Lori has worked as an RN in a supervisory role for a number of years; this experience extends to the long-term care environment and the hospital setting.

Shelley Kenny, Vice President, People & Culture

Prior to joining the senior leadership team, Shelley spent 18 years working for the Department of National Defence,  within the family support division. She joined the York Care Centre family in 2010, and held the position of Manager Volunteer Services and more recently, Manager Human Resources.

Shelley received her undergraduate Degree from the University of New Brunswick and as well has obtained  Certificates/Diplomas in Volunteer Management and Human Resource Management.

Byard Smith, Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining the senior leadership team, Byard served as Assistant Deputy Minister in the New Brunswick Department of Supply and Services and previously held senior management roles in various departments of the Government of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada.

Byard is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has held positions in the NB Department of Health and Community Services and in the Long-Term Care sector for over 17 years of his career.

Tim Boone, Director, Facility & Infrastructure Services

Prior to joining the senior leadership team, Tim worked for Horizon Health Network for 23 years, the last 12 years he served as the Manager of the Clinical Engineering Department.  Tim held the position of Chair of the Provincial Clinical Engineering Committee for several years and also sat on various other committees related to healthcare.

Tim is a certified Electronics Engineering Technologist with 33 years experience in the health care environment, 23 years in the hospitals and 11 years in a nursing home.
