York Care Centre is recruiting energetic, dependable, and team-oriented individuals for the following positions:
York Care Centre, New Brunswick’s largest long-term care organization, is on a journey to become a centre of excellence in aging care, and as the Activity Coordinator, you will a part of the team to help us achieve that vision.
The primary purpose of the Activity Coordinator is to plan, develop, organize, implement, and validate Therapeutic Recreation Programs designed to meet the social, cultural, recreational, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of the residents of York Care Centre. As a member of the Therapeutic Recreation department, you will be a part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Plan, develop, organize, promote, and coordinate individual or group activities such as daily activity programs, outings, special or seasonal activities, etc.
- Collect information on resident’s capacities, limitations, interests and adapt activity programs accordingly
- Assist residents with personal hygiene and with meals
- Prepare daily, monthly, and annual reports on resident’s participation and progress with the activity programs
As the optimal candidate, you will have successfully completed a Bachelors degree with specialization in Gerontology or successful completed the Therapeutic Activity Professionals course. You are motivated, energetic, can multi-task and have a creative mind.
