Long Term Care
York Care Centre offers 218 long-term care beds, which is the largest long-term care organization in New Brunswick.
Private and semi-private rooms are available, each equipped with private washrooms. Each resident room is furnished with a hospital bed, nightstand, over-bed table, visitor chair, a large armoire, and nurse call system.
Families are encouraged to personalize the resident’s room after admission with items such as a favourite easy chair, quilt or comforter, flat-screen TV, photos, and other decorative items to make the individual’s room feel more like home.
Before applying for admission to York Care Centres’ long-term care, potential clients must participate in a pre-admission ‘assessment process’ conducted by the Department of Social Development. This process involves both a ‘clinical’ and ‘financial’ assessment and must be completed prior to admission. You may begin this process by contacting the Department of Social Development at 1-866-444-8838.
All applications for long-term care must come through social development.
